After a short break over the festive period, Shipley Record Club is back with the first event of 2017.
Record Club stalwart Tony Painter regularly presents The Tipping Point, a programme on BCB Radio that plays music that crosses genres, continents and times.
Each programme tries to find links between performers, styles and themes to take listeners on a kind of journey.
At times this means that we hear well-known and much-loved pieces but at other times we visit some wilder territories where the music is more unusual and a bit less familiar.
Just occasionally, things get very edgy…!
For this special live extended version of the show, Tony will be playing a wide range of music but we have particularly asked him to include a bit of jazz.
There will still be free play time during the night; in keeping with the spirit of the show, people are asked to bring some of their more unusual and perhaps challenging records, particularly if they have a touch of jazz about them!
The Tipping Point Live will be held at the excellent Kirkgate Centre in Shipley. Doors open at 8pm (try those a the top end), a card/cash bar will be open with snacks available to buy too.
Nice!
