This April come join the Record Club at The Triangle for an evening of songs named after people… all on lovely vinyl.
For the Beatles it was Michelle, for Dolly Parton it was Jolene, Simon and Garfunkel: Cecilia, Eminem: Stan, ABBA: Fernando and Chiquitita. Bruce Springsteen sang about Mary Queen of Arkansas, Rosalita, Bobby Jean, The Ghost Of Tom Joad and both Harry and Mary’s Place – Bruce liked a name.
The list goes on. Artists have always found that one person who is so special, in whatever way, that a song had to be named after them.
The Record Club presents an evening of those songs. Curated by Record Club member William (it was really nothing?), the evening will include a fun Name That Tune game and a healthy time for you to play your own records. So bring along your choice of name songs too. On vinyl, naturally!
The fun starts at 8pm, sometimes a little earlier if we can get the wires sorted and we’ll be in the room upstairs at The Triangle (47 Bradford Road in Shipley), who offer an outstanding range of drinks to buy. And for those a little peckish we’ll do our best to pick up a few of the finest Indian snacks Bradford has to offer. What more could you possibly want!? See you on 7th April.
