Cops and Robbers – Saturday 7th September 2024

In September we took the law into our own hands with a night of Cops and Robbers themed vinyl. Among the artists we played were The Prodigy, Desmon Dekker, Bridewell Taxis, The Smiths, Supergrass, Thievery Corporation and Julianna Hatfield. The full list from the night can be seen on the photos below from our sophisticated Tune Database Electronic Display Unit.

Saltaire Record & Retro Fair – Saturday March 16th 2024

An image saying the Saltaire record fair is on Saturday 16th March 2024 at Caroline social club in Saltaire West Yorkshire. Doors open at 10am

Back for another year, it’s the Saltaire Record Retro Fair at Caroline Street Social Club, brought to you by the fine folk of the Shipley Record Club. We have three events for you in 2024, the first is on 16th March.

We won’t change a winning formula. There’ll be friendly stallholders and stalls crammed with records and pop culture ephemera, free entry, a bar and a cool soundtrack to accompany your browsing brought to you by Record Club DJs. Doors open at 10am. More details in the link above.

And when you’re done there’s loads more to explore in Saltaire village – the Mill, the park, plus some great shops and places to eat and drink. A proper day out!

The Literary Connection Saturday 2nd July 2022

This month we explore the connections between music and literature. Paul will be taking the reins and playing, in full, Song of Innocence by David Axelrod, his 1968 debut and with links to William Blake’s collection of poems Songs of Innocence.

He’ll also be playing at least one side of Scritti Politti’s melting pot of politics, linguistics and philosophy Songs to Remember and The (mighty) Fall’s This Nation’s Saving Grace, with its own links to Anthony Burgess and Fritz Leiber.

And in between all those there’ll be space to play your own literary linked choices, so bring some of your own vinyl to play too. Or just come along and have a listen.

We’ll be starting uptairs at The Triangle at 8pm sharp(ish) and putting a brake on the wheels of steel around 11pm. There’s great drinks available downstairs at The Triangle and great company and music upstairs. A proper decent night out. See you there!
