Today our friends at The Triangle announced that they have cancelled all forthcoming events and drinking-in until further notice, so we will be postponing our monthly Record Club Saturday night events too.
The Triangle will be staying open for take-outs and possibly a delivery service. We’d urge you to support them and your other local businesses in whatever way you can during this incredibly difficult period.
Meanwhile we are busy thinking of ways we can run one or two virtual Record Club events instead so watch this space for further details. Until then please look after yourselves and those around you and we hope to see you very soon.
It has to start somewhere. And a lot of the time it makes such an impact that you never forget it.
For Arctic Monkeys it was I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, Kate Bush wowed everyone with Wuthering Heights and Lady Ga Ga had Just Dance. Songs which started careers that never looked back.
This February, Record Club is asking you if you remember the first time an artist revealed themselves, whether it be a debut single, or the opener on their first album or EP. If you’ve got it, bring it along – as long as it’s on vinyl of course – as, after a focus album, there’ll be plenty of time to spin those discs.
And as always, there’ll be free Indian snacks and you can wash those down with the finest selection of beers Shipley has to offer at The Triangle.
Do you remember the first time? Well, make sure everyone else does too!
